Our company has justt upgraded from foxpro for DOS to Visual foxpro 5.0 for the company information system. Our company is using Novell 3.12 for the network.
Now we have a very delicate matter. Sometimes the database is damaged. The damage is that for certain records : a part of the data in one field is cut off then move to next field and so on. Therefore disrupting the whole contain of that troubled records.
This problem occured from time to time which is very annoying because we always have to fix the data.

Nevertheless, we never experinced such problem with our foxpro 2.5 for DOS system.

We suspect the Novell system is the problem. The reason is that when we use our program (compiled into exe) for non supervisor equivalent user, there is a massage of unable to write the disk. (Eventhough we have already make the designated data directory in the server to have all trusstee right (Supervisory, read ,write ,access control, etc.) just like the supervisor.

We would be grateful if somebody can give us some notice for the above matter.

Best Regards
Charles
