I saw a tv show on them. There was a guy who volunteered to be a test subject (in order to get the story). Very cool. Of course in a military action, it only prevents close up fighting (preventing the enemy from moving forward or temporarily incapacitating the enemy, and I mean very temporary), and just about every state (or non state) has the ability to fight from a distance now.
