Craig
I found this which confirms what you said:
http://support.businessobjects.com/communityCS/TechnicalPapers/cr_licensing.pdf.aspIt says:
For thick clients, free runtime (report viewing and printing APIs). A per user runtime fee is required for the integration of end user report creation capabilities using the RDC RCAPIs.
So next I looked up what a "thick client" is in Wikipedia:
A fat client (also known as a thick client or rich client) is a client that performs the bulk of any data processing operations itself, and does not necessarily rely on the server. The fat client is most common in the form of a personal computer, as the personal computers or laptops can operate independently.
So here is my guess:
1. A normal VFP application running on a PC is a fat client.
2. A VFP application installed on a Citrix server - probably a thin client?
3. Finally, what about a VFP application installed on a client's PC network, and accessed from PCs on his network. Would you say thick client?
What's your best guess?
