I have two tables:

Both tables have a part number field:
Examples:

861401-003
861701-35
865265-401
855454-1

One table is used by the planning dept where they might put the part number in as 861401-003A or 861401-003# Or 861401-003AK(the suffix might be a color code etc).

The second table used to record inspections on part will have the part number as 861401-003.

I need to find out if a part number selected from the first table(planning) is also in the second table(inspection).

Please help.
