>Is it possible for me to do a subreport listing only the financial classes that are actually used, without repeating the selection criteria in the subreport? In other words, can I do a subreport that uses the parent data as a whole, instead of linking to the values in individual records?I am somewhat new to Crystal Reports, having used 8 for a few months, and just recently getting 11. As I recall from training and having done a report with two subreports, the answer would be yes.
At one stage in the development of one of those subreports, I had not constraned (filtered) the results returned, so I got all the records for the fields requested from the table - so I see no reason why you could not write a subreport as you've described above.
My technique is to 'Save As' and play with a copy under a new name, forging ahead with no fear of breaking a functional report that is in use.
