Thought it worth reporting that Rick Schummer recently said this over in Profox:

I personally think the UT is the center of the negative energy in the Fox Universe

Rick is of course the leader who appeared in UT for a few days last year to deny ownership of the community lifetime achievement award and to defend his buddies who escalated an interpersonal dispute into real-life damage for a UT member. Presumably theirs was a "positive" act. ;-) He is also involved in the SednaX program and is an author for FoxRockx.

Interestingly, the comment was made as part of support for the UT magazine: he said the UT mag was separate, had carried good content in the past, and was not part of the reputation that UT has built up. At least I think it was he who said that; I only get email Profox summaries which can be difficult to attribute.

It is also interesting that this sort of negativity always seems to flow "inwards" towards the UT. I've never seen Michel criticizing other forums, trying to convert his own issues into problems at other sites or attacking and undermining like this. Whereas in the past year, at least 4 members of a certain in-group have fired off negativity towards UT. Interestingly, when confronted they all pointed to their past achievements and try to make it a contest about service rather than poor behavior, implying (again) that UT and its attitudes are at fault rather than the shameful behavior in question.

My inclination would be to refuse to subscribe to FoxRockx until that in-group learns a little humility, but I wish to support the initiative and expect to subscribe in due course- that is if they don't ban detractors as easily as they compliment and reward each other. ;-)
