Jim, I'm member of quite a few sites as well including some outside IT.
The first "hateful" online exchange I ever saw was from a VB flame bully summoned to a comparative discussion a decade ago by a VFP MVP who was toying with VB. That was on DevX. The only one I ever saw on UT was years ago and ended with the ban of both participants. I'm told there was some ugly stuff in chatter as well but I seem to have managed to miss most of that.
IMHO the arrival of 2 mags should be a time to "accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative" not to escalate longstanding grudges. That's my whole take on this.
