sorry, I overlooked we are suppose to find an element in the array with element#>9 = something

so:

nEle = ASCAN( aTest, "XXX",round(9/alen(atest,2),0), -1,2, 0 )

would give 12 (=element)

I prefer Dragan's solution though.
