Did you run RG6 coax cables? Isn't that the same as running component video cables to the back of your HDTV? I was using those before I switched to the HDMI cable. My HDTV is directly above the cablebox so length is not an issue. I'm not up-to-speed on video technology...
>Tracy, when I installed the HDMI cable for my projector I got them to pull 3 heavy component cables as well, each of which cost more than the HDMI(!) but that sort of thick copper coax is effectively future-proof. Whereas HDMI is pushing it already for HDTV and keeps needing new and better specs. FWIW, most HDMI sold last year isn't up to spec for 1920i. Whereas chunky coax with converters should handle anything. Worth considering if you're running cables inside walls.
