I'm glad to hear you aren't scolding the tide expecting it to change. I was worried for you- I'm sure you've heard the experts say that there is a whole generation about to burst into the workforce who will expect everything delivered to them on a plate because that's how their lives have been. They're also far less tolerant of criticism and expect everything to be wooly-wrapped for their sensitivities. Blogs like the one to which you have attached will be even more distasteful to these newcomers. But if you already know that, then we're cool.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
