>>I'm trying to use the report writer to print a report with a page header, 3 fields in each of 2 columns. I want to print the 1st record in col 1, 2n in col 2, etc. The data prints, but col 1 is skipped by the 1st record and the printing starts in col 2. The 2nd record is printed in the next band in col 1.

Jim,

I have the same problem with a report. I have one field in the detail band of the report and have it setup with 3 columns. When I run the report everything is fine. If I add data grouping then the first column of the first row is skipped and the data starts in the second column (I am printing across).
