Are you close to Fort Riley? I had orders for Fort Riley back in 1982. I traded with a guy (who was from Missouri and wanted to be close to home) for Fort Bliss, TX. I only got to spend a week at Fort Bliss before they shipped me off to Fort Polk! :o( That was a very bad trade for me...

>>No, you don't. You don't kill a hydra by chopping at its heads. You kill the body that supports the heads. The body/support is in Afghanistan.
>>
>>And no, before you jump on THAT bandwagon, I'm not saying there are no terrorists in Iraq. I am, however, saying that there are probably far more terrorists in Iraq than might have been if we hadn't invaded. Does anyone remember Viet Nam? We might be winning in the field, but I don't think we're winning 'the hearts and minds'.

>>Again, Obama's plan would have an (at least) 16 month lifespan.

>I remember Vietnam quite well.

>Obama wants to complete the Vietnam repeat by skipping out and letting the real slaughter happen in Iraq. Strangely, most of the troops that come back to Fort Riley out here are very convinced that we are winning the hearts and minds - but a good dose of skipping out will make it all better.

>I'll try and get starry eyed and warm and fuzzy about electing someone to lose the war on terrorism, but it's still kinda hard.
