If so, then Visual Source Safe comes in VS 6.0, and it is my understanding that VS 6.0 cost about what two other tools cost.
You also get the Visual Modeler, which you might want to use. Vb, if you want to create some Active-X stuff...
Of course, only you can answer the question of 'is it compelling'. One mans garbage is another man's (neighboor's garbage) treasure.
