Hi Kevin,
our situation is nearly simular to yours. 25 different base reports with up to 99 variants each.
BUT...We don't want to convert the old VFP reports. In CR we are using a data repository which is accessable for VFP-, VS- and JAVA-Apps at the same time. So we will adapt the old reports step by step.
At the time being we are doing conceptional work, so we can offer our customers a tool in which they can switch between UNIX-, VFP- and CR-based reports on the fly. The underlying tables will be updated by us on a regular basis.
However this means, that we have to take care for the old VFP-reports for some time longer but our customers will get a soft change from VFP to CR.
Best Regards
-Tom
Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place.
Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are,
by definition, not smart enough to debug it.
