UPDATE

It really doesn't matter who started it: swiping at him like that seems designed to create fuss- just what we don't need when we should be celebrating creation of 2 new fox mags.

Surely one of you guys can act as peacemaker. Remove the personal swipes and find a solution that doesn't feed anybody's presumed desire for furore and attention.

One day if we ever should meet I'll share some war stories about this sort of experience. Believe me, the "win" only ever comes when you give some ground and create general policies that provide exactly what the other party wants if they can be bothered following it. They'll be at you as long as there's heat in it and they're able to make apparently reasonable demands that create inconvenience for you and/or liability if you screw up. Respond with reasonable policies that put the onus back on them- not policies that look as if you did it just to spite them, but policies that *anybody* can follow to achieve their reasonable goals. Remove the heat. Give some ground, especially if it's of little value.

FWIW, it's not so difficult to obliterate content in a pdf. You can just add a box over the top. If people don't have Acrobat they can check out "pdf editors" at Tucows.com .
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
