Don't store the pics in a table, store the path to each picture and put the pictures in a foler, or multiple folders.I've got a web thing that has almost 40,000 mugshots in it and I only store the paths, plus some demographic info in a table.

Putting the files in the database might offer you the added benefit of losing all your pictures WHEN the memo field corrupts. doing it this way allows you to retain the pictures even if the table gets corrupted.
