Hi John,

>That's BS. Black men get most of the opportunities. If they apply themself, they are almost guaranteed success. Our city government even has "set aside" programs just for the blacks. We pay millions more per year to black contractors for computers than we would pay buying off state contract. The reason - blacks need help. Yeah right! It turns out, these businessmen are just supporters of the mayors. This drives me nuts. I came from relatively humble beginnings, but nobody gave me a leg up. Oh, I forgot, I'm one of those priveleged, white, rich guys. The time has long past to stop giving anyone a boost. Let people compete and may the best qualified win.

What's BS? You called me BS and then post something that agrees with me.

I am 100% in agreement with you. Merit and merit alone is what should drive everything.

>>>We need to address the results of those inequities and help black families catch up before we can decide that we're done.

>>WRONG. We need to inculcate everyone with the fact that with a brain and a direction everyone in this country can and will succeed. Where inequities exist they exist because of willful cultural segregation and a perception of perpetual victimhood. I have never known anyone who didn't progress up the ladder when busting butt. If someone assumes the deck is stacked and they don't try then it's a self-fulfilling prophesy. Society is Darwinian - succeed or fail regardless.
