I have written a 'MailMerge' application using VFP 5.0a and Word97. I write all the code in VFP using VBA to control Word. I put 'MailMerge' in quotes because it may not be a true mailmerge. I Select records from serveral tables creating a print file. Open a Word document and insert data from the printfile into the Word document at preset Bookmarks. I print the letter, copy it, open another Word document and paste it, creating an image file. The image file is available for audit purposes and to reprint if an original gets destroyed during the folding/insert operation.
Cautions: hardcopy documentation for using VBA in VFP is hard to find. I had to use the latest patches for both Office 97 and VFP 5.0.
