Don't use macro substitution. Use EXECSCRIPT() instead:
TEXT TO lcDoThis NOSHOW
     cmsg = 'A' + 'B'+ 'C'
     MessageBox(cmsg)
ENDTEXT
EXECSCRIPT(lcDoThis)
