Mike, we've just invested some time in rewriting some Fox stuff experimentally using PHP, Webforms and WPF. WPF is cool, but we don't think the customers are ready. Funnily enough we had a discussion yesterday and decided cynically that the target customer for WPF in 2008 is developers who don't write company checks. ;-) It feels like Java in the early days and presumably will change and mature in the same way. The correct decision IMHO is the same as the one deciding to move from VFP to xyz tool: always stay productive while we watch, learn and Experiment.

And lets not forget the iPhone factor. People (by which I mean customers who write checks ;-) ) are increasingly saying they want to use cheap handheld/portable devices for more. But experts now say that handheld apps are dying, replaced by websites designed to look OK on big and small screens. In which case people can (and will) use just about any development tool that can generate a web page.
