True. This is something minor enough that contract money will buy happiness whichever way they want to go (if it is something really insane, I find new contracts more palatable).
Then when they whine and say they can't stand the blinking, more contract money to make it right buys more happiness.
Just always have the name of whomever required the blinking labels handy for when users/managers/etc whine to you. Offer up the name loudly.
