>I am in a project where I have to send faxes to a group of people, my first problem is how to use the report writer to produce files that can be faxed - if its possible - I am trying to avoid using Microsoft Word - as an ActiveX server - because I have to do the report manually.
>And my second question is once I have the file ready to send, How to send it. I am looking for and OCX that can do the job. If somebody can give a clue I will really appreciate it. Thanks
Most fax programs act like printers, once you tell them what number to fax to. Your issue is simply making this phantom 'fax printer' your current printer, sendin instructions as to what fax numbers to send to, and print your reports normally (as if you were printing to a local printer).
Also, most fax programs are controllable through DDE commands - which take a little getting used to but work well. SO, you need to find out how best to select the fax printer in your environment, and what DDE commands to send to the driver.
There are probably plug-ins that handle faxing (check HalloGram), but I'd recommend just using the one built into Win9x or the one available free for NT ad doing the DDE shuffle (that way you don't have to worry so much about OCX versions and distribution rights and such) - or using whatever your office uses.
