We are on the wrong path though. It is easy to assume that those detained for long periods of time are justified when you don't know the person. It is quite different when it is a friend or family matter. I hear it here all to often - there has to be a reason. Well, sometimes there isn't. All too often we have detained innocent people and sometimes for years. A terrorist calls the wrong number and it hits your cell phone and guess what. You are now a part of the system. It really is happening. The fbi and cia can now under the guise of national security infringe on our rights in a way that has never been possible before. Yet the majority of folks don't even realize it is happening. It is sad, very sad. It is the erosion of our civil rights that caused me to call for Bush's resignation or impeachment. Everytime I mention it I am scorned.

>>While I don't believe that the US has hit the extremes mentioned in the article, it does have a 'deja vu all over again' feel to it for being almost 7 years old, doesn't it?

>It was that old? I skimmed thru it, I just googled 'Por algo será' and for the quick read felt that article explained quite well what I was trying to say, did not realize how old it was <g>
