Den Haag, although I stayed with a family in Utrecht for a couple of weeks.

I should add, that although I am weary of travel (still), my daughter seems to have caught the 'bug.' She has been to Costa Rica and Mexico (twice) and at each location stayed with families in their homes for periods of time to immerse herself in the culture (those were tough summers for me). It seems that interest in other cultures is genetic. I still want to visit (for fun as a tourist) Norway, England, Scotland, Wales, Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland.

To be honest, I know a LOT of folks who have never left their state, let alone their country. However, due to my time in the military (and other branches) and my other careers, I know a LOT who have travelled more extensively than I.

>>Since you were concentrating on the west, I will list some of the countries I have spent time in (I'll leave out Asia, Africa, and the Middle East):
>>
>>Germany
>>East Berlin
>>The Netherlands
>>France
>>Spain
>>Austria
>>Switzerland
>>Canada
>>Mexico
>>Panama
>>Guatemala
>>Honduras
>>Costa Rica
>>Columbia
>>El Salvador
>>Venezuela

>>Of all the places I've been (including those not listed), my favorite place, believe it or not, was probably the Netherlands and specifically Holland and The Hague, although my time spent there was short each time (once for work, twice for fun). But you are correct, 1991 was the last time I was overseas. I have not been overseas since my daughter was born (other than one trip). Frankly, I had become quite weary of travel.

>That is quite a list. I guess most of them was when you were in the military, isn't it? Though I'm not so much a traveler myself (some of my colleages are doing it much more frequent) my list is about the same size (granted mainly private).
