I really don't want to take any side here, in this case I think you both have reacted a little too strongly.

I must also confess that I don't take the time to study and analyze what everone writes. I occasionally read some of the messages, and usually refrain from commenting. With that I mean to say that I may sometimes seem a little biased, when I really only want to calm down a discussion. My somewhat limited English will both influence how I interpret the discussion, and in what degree I am able to write what I really mean.

Please read my messages with that in mind, and try to understand what I mean, and not what I write. :-)

>It's a valid point, but doesn't change my view of how I know Naomi meant that. Everything was going along just fine until that snide remark. I catch enough when I do it, I see no reason why I can't respond the same.

I have see so many rude remarks from several people here, commenting on how a few relatively new programmers struggle with getting seemingly easy taskt to work. Since Jay clearly is not a newcomer, and has been very rude in many of his postings, he also should be able to "swallow" a few negative remarks without getting offended.

>>>If I understand correctly, '10 year' remark appeared well inside the thread, i.e. it was not the first reply; and at the point of appearance emotions were already heated enough to 'justify' thorough considerations who said what.
