With charismatic people you get the feeling they are outside the norm and are really going to make a difference. Not the same old same old. Sure, wanting to see a black president is fine, but I don't think that's all there is to it. He has not been running as a "black candidate," although of course it's hard to avoid the subject with race being as volatile as it is in this country.

Young people are basically ignorant. They have no basis in history, and therefore are easily swayed. The "cool" thing to do will blow them in that direction. This is one reason the founding fathers required a minimum age of 35 to run for the coolest job in the world!

As for Obama's policies....

More taxes and sending our money to Africa to help them are two deal killers for me. We already send more money out to the warlords than we should.
