Oh well. I wish Foxrockx all the best. It was brave of Rainer or the German UG or whoever the "international community" leading FoxRockx actually is, to start a new mag at this time. Full credit. I do think Rainer might have stepped up to the plate himself to promote the mag, just as people like Kevin McNeish or Rick Strahl have always made an effort to promote their own services rather than relying on proxies who then claim to have nothing to do with it, but I guess that's just a management style.

I'm also reminded of the start of CoDe magazine. Initial annual subscription was less than one issue of FoxRockx. Presumably the goal was to grow an impressive subscriber list to attract advertising and allow time to build excellent content so people will be willing to pay full price next time. But again, I guess that's just management style. FWIW, I also see that CoDe makes content free after a few months; the recent spat with JVP was about content that still is not free after a decade.

It does seem a shame that everything to do with VFP always seems to carry a note of sourness and blame these days. All I can say is that each of us is responsible for his/her own happiness and success; always looking for somebody else to blame doesn't help.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
