You don't specify which two tables were in the original query, that would help a bit.

Are you sure that EMPNO is unique in tAlias2?

Making the assumption that you added tAlias3 it probably is so........

Are you sure that NO is unique in tAlias3? That would explain the duplicate rows since the one record in tAlias1 would match with the multiple records in tAlias3.
