Several versions ago, you had to call a function with an = even if you didn't expect a return value. That was changed a some point (I don't remember which version).

>I don't know if I read somewhere or experienced a problem with calling SEEK() without "=". So, after I started calling it as =SEEK(), I call all methods and functions with "=". But my memory is bad so it could have been my experience before VFP.
