>We are using mscomm32 to print labels using XonXoff handshaking. The printer buffer is being over run intermittently. Has anyone ever experienced handshaking problems with mscomm32.ocx(VFP5.0a). If so what suggetions are there? or are there any good alternatives to mscomm32?

Problems I have seen are characters in the data stream (end up being the same as Xon or Xoff chars (CTL-S & CTL-Q) or a non-standard cable and/or RS-232 port. I have seen no problems with the Xon/Xoff of the control. There are documented problems with Windows 3.1 and 95 (Windows Problem not control) if the receive buffer is >2048. If so, set the parity char to null. (Microsoft Knowledgebase article Q149279: Bug: Garbage in Input Buffer when InBufferSize>2048).
