Yep, same company. I think it was InfoCom or something. A couple of years ago I remember seeing boxed sets of them for about $30, title "The Lost...of Infocom".

They created a very sophiscated parser for the time. Remember the limitations too. I ran mine on an Atari 800XL with 64K of RAM.
