yes but only in code, what I do is extract the column class from a grid object (something similar to what I do with Dataenvironments)

no AFAIK VFP original builders are not available
but you can find some builders on the net to see how it is done
there was also an article in FPA about that (about a year ago - don't remember the exact issue but I can probably dig it up if you like)
