I know and I wasn't attempting to contradict you, only to show the history of the UN resolutions, those not voted on, and what is being done now (just out of general interest). Sorry for the confusion.

>>Ah the UN resolutions. I like this quote from a poster on al.com:
>>
>>Before this war, the U.N. Security Council passed 17 resolutions against Iraq, the last "ultimatum" being 1441. Saddam Hussein ignored them all.
>>
>>Most of those were made during the Clinton years in which nothing was done. Apparently, only the Bush administration took those resolutions seriously. This was obviously one of Bush's worst mistakes, because no one (including the Democrats) should take the United Nations seriously.

>Come on, Tracy, that's smoke and mirrors. There was nothing obscure about our attempt to get a UN resolution to invade Iraq in 2003. They didn't say no but they wouldn't say yes until they found WMDs, which they did not find. I did not say Saddam Hussein was a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize. I was correcting Mike H.'s statement that "The UN Resolution allowed it."
