Maybe because conservatives spend so much time hating liberals it gets it out of their system ;-)
I am slowly making progress on that Hunter Thompson oral history. Unfortunately it is starting to remind me of the oral history of Warren Zevon I read last year -- finding out someone whose work I admired was kind of loathsome as a person. It's very entertaining, though.
>Yeah, I'm starting to see that. Why is self-loathing limited to liberals? There might be a doctoral thesis in the making there.

>>>The military is all-volunteer so folks have to evaluate the risks and rewards before joining. I can't speak for Tracy, but I volunteered and ended up in a Strategic Air Command bunker with a red phone, waiting for orders to launch B-52s at the Soviets. If that order had come I would have been in a certain death position. But that was my duty and that's what one did. I am certain that the troops in Iraq feel the same way as probably Tracy did, too, while serving. I think, Perry, you just don't understand the mindset.

>>>That's why you won't see my voice in "frustration" because I knew the risks when I joined and accepted them. I would guess that's why you see very few veterans voicing your assumed "frustration" as well.
>>>
>>>Just come clean and admit that you're an anti-military, anti-American shill and be done with it. Stop pretending you actually give a s**t about the typical serviceman.

>>Perry is into self loathing, country loathing, he even loaths his loathing. He's happiest when he's miserable, so he is always happy.
