I ruled out SQL Express because of it limits database size and number of concurrent users. Also, from what I can tell, it is not embedded which requires more complex installs.

I haven't looked deeply at SQLite, but it seems to be geared at small utility software where the database requirements are minimal (mp3 players, cell phones ...). Also they don't seem to place much emphasis on the .NET platform.

In addition, I have been evaluating MM.Net as a possible framework and it directly supports VistaDb.
