AFAIK -- the 8K limit is required by VFP. I have worked around this in the editors that I have written by storing a second memberdata XML in the user memo field. I read this in addition to the standard memberdata XML in the editor. This way there is not a limit. The editor allows you to select which values have memberdata (stored for VFP) -- but the case settings are retained in the user memo.

The class editor is still in testing/development. It is based on common code/class of the form editor but I am not sure of any bugs that may be serious. I have not worked on it in several months due to time limitations -- if you are interested in seeing/trying it, I can send it to you (with source). Let me know if interested.
