>I'd like everyone to take a look at the new Memphis Police Department, Real Time Crime Center website and offer your comments. We are giving the general public unprecedented access to data, in real time.
>
>I've been developing the RTCC mapping site using Google's mapping api, Web Connection and VFP, plus some hand rolled html and javascripting for the last few weeks.

>I've also used the same combination for a new program called CyberWatch. Citizens are able to enroll from the RTCC's website, or the Memphis Police site. This system sends emails to the users each morning that details the following:
>
>All reported crimes within a radius of the selected address/intersection for up to 30 days, with links into the details of any case. The user is also able to enter any information they may have on a given crime, click the submit button and send directly to the investigator who has the case.
>
>We also show all sex offenders within the defined radius, and link into the state's system for photographs.
>
>We also have all warrants within the defined radius, with links to the mugshots (actually a wanted poster), and an icon to link into the Sheriff's Office warrant squad, if you want to tell them were the fugitive might be.

>Finally, we have a link that allows citizens to send information to us on anything.

Frankly, John, I like it a lot. It's easy on the eyes (mine, anyway) and it's easy to use. The only thing that bothered me at all is that the pictures at the bottom keep cycling. I clicked on a picture to see (I assume) the web cam, and got the next one in the series instead of the one I wanted because it changed just as I clicked. Maybe the cycling should stop when the mouse is over a picture.
