It shows where a part of the attitude about illegal immigrants is derived from. I drive through the town of Sanford on my way into work. Sanford is heavily populated with illegal immigrants. In the past year I have had 4 close calls with illegal immigrants driving in that city. Have you ever driven in Mexico? I have and it is very similar -- driving the wrong way down the road and almost getting into a head-on collision, cutting across all lanes to go the wrong way 'down' a ramp to then go in the wrong direction on the road you merge onto. The problem is that many don't learn the rules of the road and are not tested as citizens are. They drive according to the standards they drove to in Mexico.

As to the drinking, it is common in Mexico as well, or was the last time I visited at least. 40 years ago, here in the U.S. it was not all that uncommon for the man in the family to spend his evenings in the local bar with his buddies. That is still the case in Mexico. Also, many are here without their families sharing space in a home and send the majority of their money home each payday. They don't invest in any entertainment here so many spend their extra money on cheap alcohol and drinking together on their time off. It is accepted practice in Mexico but not here any longer. The communities and businesses might want to take a look at that and try to find alternatives for them if they want their labor.
