>>My current setup is ViewSonic VA1912wb (1440x900) on the left, and an old 19" CRT on the right (presently at 1280x1024, capable of more but with eyestrain). The right monitor is 7+ years old, and recently lost the blue cannon - red and green still work, and it's sort of still usable for what it's supposed to do (hold my debugger window, command window stack, email and chat windows - everything else is either on the left or in other three desktops), but I've just had enough. There's a different kind of eyestrain going on, the color adjustment - which now happens too often and it becomes annoying.

o, so I wouldn't have to scroll so often if I'm looking at a document. Preferably if it can be bought at Newegg, is at least 19", no sound (i.e. if there are some speakers, they won't be used), resolution 1600x1200 or 1680x1080 or thereabouts.

Not necessarily, already got one, and it's wide enough already. I've noticed that I miss a few hundred pixels of height quite often - browser window, for example, can't use all that width most of the time, but a few hectopixels in vertical direction would be welcome. OTOH, looking at what's offered, seems to be widescreen is de rigeur nowadays - there are but a few 4:3 dinosaurs and they seem to be limited to 1280:1024 or, at best, 1600x1200.
I've found a couple of models from Samsung and Asus, but let's see if something else comes up. I'm not really in a hurry.
