I guess I've got a different take on that. What allows a group of people to lay claim to land? Is it because they were born there? I think the reality is, it is because they took it and defended it. The indians were constantly battling each other, stealing each other's food, women, etc. What is the difference, if an Englishman raids an Apache camp and takes over, or a Commanche?
