Hi Bob,

I know that for Excel and Word it can be done through automation. It could be possible to do the same with Powerpoint but I didn't try it.

A PDF could have 2 types of passwords: Master and User. The Master password controls permissions to PDF modifications but doesn't prevent the PDF openning. The User password, if set, is required to open the PDF. If you have only former, than PDF can be open w/o supplying any password.
