Strange. I took several AJAX related books for holiday reading and onkeyup event was utilized in two of them so far. onkeyup is an equavalent of KeyPress and onChange is an equavalent of LostFocus (but it doesn't fire if there was no change).
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
