Perry, Perry.....you must be the annoying one that people at parties ignore. Oh, wait, you're in California so that makes you a prophet.

>Everything with you is "left" vs. "right". Do u have a problem supporting our troops? Moron. I have seen the stats that show suicide going up. So it must be a leftist statistic is that it.

Nope, it ain't. Perry, you're the bombthrower always citing things directly tied to venom-spewing lefties or bonafide loonies, not me.

I have no doubts vet suicides are going up; none at all. But when I looked at the groups filing this suit and what their activism and goals have been I have no alternative than to reach the conclusion that this sorry state of affairs is being used by them politically. That's absolutely shameful. Now, if they had allied with some conservative vet groups or at least apolitical groups to ensure the suit had focus and is not a political grandstand I would not be so leery.

>And you can't be a liberal and be a vet. If I recall correctly during the last elections in 2006, there were quite a few vets running and as far as I knew the vast majority were running under the dem ticket. Because they didn't like the way they were treated as vets.

Sure you can be a liberal and a vet. Have you read "The Wild Blue" by Stephen Ambrose? Most of it details the exploits of George McGovern, a bomber pilot in WW2 and a bonafide war hero. I would dispute that the "vast majority" of vets running in 2006 were liberals....it's possible but do you have the stats to back it up?

OK, Perry, now you've gone off the deep end as to "treatment". Vets are Dems because of the treatment of vets??? Are you out of your freaking mind? Look, pal, I was in the military a bit after Carter and his Dem allies in Congress killed the GI Bill and left the average GI Joe with nothing. And his refusal to sign off on military wage increases. I'm old enough to remember Dems and progressives spitting on returning Vietnam vets and calling them "babykillers". The Dems have been completely out-to-lunch on almost all military issues since the early 1960's and people KNOW that which is why strong national security candidates score so well and are rarely Dems.

>Maybe you have to ask yourself the question, "Why are there "leftist" vet organizations".

Because we live in a free society and people can choose how they wish to affiliate. Frankly, I'd be a bit concerned if all vets were conservative (but the majority are it seems).

>You really, really have some kind of chip on your shoulder. I'm sure you're happy you found a website here where people like you, Jay, Harvey can rant and rave about how you guys have the solutions to all the problems. Just nuke everyone who doesn't fit into your little club.

A little over-the-top there, Perry. At least we have the experience and service to back up our convictions.

>>Perry, you have a problem with the truth again? It ain't soldiers suing, it's a couple of liberal vet organizations. I quote from the linked article:
>>
>>"What I would like to see from the VA is that they actually treat patients with respect," says Bob Handy, the head of Veterans United for Truth, one of the bodies suing the agency.
>>
>>Mr Handy formed the group after hearing a raft of complaints from veterans about their treatment, when he was a member of the Veterans Caucus of the state Democratic Party.

>>
>>Nowhere in the article are current soldiers suing mentioned. It's just another couple of leftists organizations stirring up problems with a political agenda. Note also that the suit is being filed in San Francisco. What a surprise.
>>
>>You want to make a point so badly you have to be dishonest to do it?
>>
>>
>>
>>>Soldiers are suing the govt over the poor medical treatment they are receiving, which in turn is leading to increased suicide rates. But if the knuckleheads amongst us wish to keep harping about immigration, how everyone loves the US, there is no Global Warming....etc.....:
