A couple of things that worked for me was to actually eat breakfast, and to cut back on the sodas. I used to never eat breakfast, and I'd maybe get around to eating lunch at about 3 or 4PM. When I eat a breakfast, I'm usually starving by about 11AM. I didn't really cut out anything or reduce any quantities of food, just cut back on the pop. I lost nearly 40 lbs.
You've got to get the ol' furnace fired up so it'll burn those calories.
