Look at the expression in the iif - it's ckval%2=1, IOW if the ckval value is an odd number. The % operator returns the remainder of the first operand when divided with the second (and I admit the syntax is sort of weird - not related to any percentages at all). So, any numbers ending in 1,3,5,7 or 9 would print with a +, others without.
