>>I have a patient eligibility project starting where I will need to write ANSI requests that will be fed via the web to a clearing house, which will return information. They use SOAP to do this. I've not done any coding with SOAP and was looking for anything that might get me started. I found this http://www.west-wind.com/presentations/xmlmessaging/soapwebservices.htm but it is from 2000. Does that matter much? How do I know if I have SOAP installed and is it like a DLL or how would I get installed on our client's boxes? Or can it be included with the application EXE somehow? Any help appreciated.

That's a great link, but I was actually hoping for some dialog with someone who has done this so I can jump into it fairly quickly.
