I don't thing so, esp. for FireBird.
I have no experience with MySQL so I can't have an opinion there, but for me Firebird is buggy :-) and even VFP with Power troubles can't cause so much corruptions :-)
But maybe I started with some of the earlier versions of Firebird. Maybe they made that database better. But I don't want to test it again :o))))
