O.K. the field or fields inquestion and table makeup are as follows:

Table Ingrow
fields productid and quantity. there are x amount of records and are displayed properly
when the report pulls up it shows correct numbers on individual records but when you go to the group footer productid the sum on group productid quantity shows ****.

I hope I have explained this right in the meantime I am going to try what John sent me also maybe this will help point me in the .......
