Tracy,

I think the tools available for WPF are growing so fast that it will be easy and fast to write very graphic rich front-ends very soon. As long as the data access is respectable, I see it as the future. Sort-of like game design meets data...

We wrote ours simply so we can offer a WPF frontend. It gets a tick, even from those whose infrastructure isn't up to it. Should you dare to observe that this sounds like somebody getting in early to promote/parrot an unproven mechanism ;-) then you can expect to be called a luddite with your head stuck in the sand on the deck of a scuttled ship that cannot be saved. ;-)
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
