I converted to VS 2008 a while ago; that was pretty painless. However, I just recently converted to 3.5. I'll be going through the deployment to our production webserver sometime early next week so we'll see how that goes. I'm primarily using the controls from Telerik, but I had similar problems with version mismatches between 2.0/3.5 versions of their controls.
